Charlottesville Pathology Associates is affiliated with Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, VA. CPA provides professional pathology services and directorship to Martha Jefferson Hospital's clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory.
Lab Organization
The Martha Jefferson Laboratory is organized to assure that the laboratory is managed with care, experience, and attention. The pathologists of Charlottesville Pathology Associates work closely with the lab management to make certain that the laboratory is staffed with the most qualified technicians and that the processes are the most efficient and effective. Martha Jefferson Cytology Staff
The cytopathology lab contains American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certified Cytotechcologists with over 80+ years of combined experience and education.

Martha Jefferson Histology Staff
The surgical pathology section of the laboratory is staffed with histotechnologists having a combined 80 + years of experience.
Pathologists' Assistant
Charlottesville Pathology Associates added a Pathologists' Assistant to the group in May 2007. Phon Watana provides technical assistance in anatomic pathology. Phon received her undergraduate degree from UVA and her Masters in Health Science from the Pathologists' Assistant Program at Duke University. She joined CPA with 2 ½ years experience as a PA at UVA. Phon complements CPA's commitment to providing the highest quality of diagnostic services for clinical doctor's and their patients.
