Cut and Stain

The Microtome (a cutting instrument that cuts very thin slices of the tissue) is used to cut slices of the blocks associated with the case.  These slices are put on slides that are labeled with the unique case number and are stained with Hematoxylin and Eosin (H&E).  Once stained, these are ready to be examined under the microscope.
